I'm very impressed with the new research, or old research making its way into the public, on the benefits of Vitamin D.
A few things made me a little skeptical of Vitamin D
- I'd been given the third degree by pharmacists when requesting Vitamin D
- I'm told not to go out in the sun during the hours of 10-2 each day - this is the time when the most amount of Vitamin D is produced in sunshine - outside those hours the sun's wavelengths are absorbed into the atmosphere based on traveling through more of it at lower angles. (I am not saying to cook yourself!)
- Big medicine doing everything they can to prevent natural absorption of Vitamin D - Chemical laden sunscreen that eliminates UV rays to allow Vitamin D synthesis
Yet other sources - usually ridiculed or ignored by mainstream media - present a different view:
- Doctors in the US present case after case about Vitamin D deficiencies and the link/ prevention of cancer
http://www.ucsd.tv/series/index.aspx?sh ... number=520 - numerous independent organisations are popping up supporting Vitamin D research, e.g:
http://www.grassrootshealth.net/ - Search
www.youtube.com for countless videos, including some making mainstream media, for more on Vitamin D's benefits - seemingly the recommended daily allowance needs some serious adjustment in the upwards direction
So yes, I'd suggest more study into Vitamin D is a good option to consider.
